What is myopia?
Myopia, or nearsightedness, occurs when the length of the eye is “too long” or the corneal power is “too strong”. This causes light to focus in front of the retina instead of on the retina causing a blurred image.

Happy World Health Day 🌍✨ A friendly reminder from us - don’t skip your annual eye exam!
Why it matters:
👀 Your vision changes more than you think. In Missouri, glasses and contact prescriptions are valid for one year, so keeping your exam up to date ensures you’re always seeing your best.
👁️ It’s about more than just vision - we’re checking your eye health too. Annual exams help detect early signs of conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. With dilation and our Digital Wellness Screening, we can catch issues early and monitor changes over time.
🍼👶 Eye care starts young! While we can see patients as early as infancy, it’s recommended children have an exam before kindergarten. Noticing squinting or eye strain sooner? Bring them in early for peace of mind.
👓 And let’s be honest… a fresh pair of frames never hurts 😉

Small business life means sometimes the youngest team members step in to help! 😄
Yesterday it was Dr. Christy’s kids lending a hand with some office tasks — unpacking supplies, stuffing bags, and making sure everything is ready for our patients.
Child labor laws may be questionable… but payment in snacks and hugs seems to keep morale high. 😉 ... See MoreSee Less
