Annual contact lens exams allow us to monitor how your eyes respond to lens wear, evaluate your corneal health, and make precise adjustments to your prescription or lens style as your eyes naturally change over time.
What Is Included in a Contact Lens Exam and Evaluation?
Our comprehensive process is divided into two main components to confirm that your lenses fit well and that you feel completely confident using them:
The Exam: We measure your specific contact lens prescription and map the unique surface of your eye using the Visia Imaging Corneal Analyzer. We also evaluate your overall eye health, screening for concerns like dry eye, digital eye strain, or keratoconus. This thorough assessment also helps us identify complex prescriptions, such as presbyopia or astigmatism, that point to a need for specialty contact lenses.
The Evaluation: For patients who have worn contact lenses before, the evaluation allows the doctors to assess or reassess the fit of the lens as well as the visual correction achieved by the lens. Adjustments can be made if needed. If habitual lenses still suit you, the prescription can be finalized.
For those new to contacts, this includes a dedicated one-on-one training class. We guide you through how to safely insert, remove, and care for your new lenses. These sessions are designed for first-time wearers, parents of children who are new to contact lenses, or individuals switching to a lens style that is significantly different from their previous pair.

Designed for individuals with presbyopia, these lenses feature multiple prescription zones. They allow you to see clearly at near, intermediate, and far distances without relying on reading glasses.
These lenses are uniquely shaped to correct slight imperfections in vision. They help reduce glare and halos, providing sharper focus in low-light environments or while driving at night.
Combining the crisp vision of a rigid gas-permeable center with the comfortable wear of a soft outer skirt, hybrid lenses offer the unique benefits of two distinct styles in a single design.
Specially weighted and shaped to correct astigmatism, toric lenses stay securely in place on the eye to prevent blurred or distorted vision when you blink or move your eyes.
These large-diameter, gas-permeable lenses vault completely over the cornea and rest on the white part of the eye (called the sclera). The lenses are filled with a saline reservoir that provides clear vision and keeps the eyes moist and comfortable throughout the day.

Orthokeratology involves custom lenses worn exclusively while sleeping.
