Born and raised in St. Louis, Dr. Kim Folwarski Brown went to high school at Rosati-Kain High School. Dr. Brown then went to Southeast Missouri State University to earn her Bachelor of Science in Biology. After shadowing a few doctors, Dr Brown decided on Optometry because of the wide range of patient care. She earned her Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree in 2011 at the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry, where she received the Charles Matlock Award for Excellence in Pediatric Optometry.
During optometry school, Dr. Brown completed rotations in pediatrics, specialty contact lenses, and surgical management.
Dr. Kim enjoys primary care optometry for all ages, but has a passion for pediatric and binocular vision, a specialized form of optometry specific for testing children for reading and school related vision problems. Dr. Brown is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Missouri Optometric Association,the St. Louis Optometric Society and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
Dr. Brown spends her free time with her two kids, Sadie and RJ, and husband Rob. She enjoys crafting with her Cricut® and lives by the motto, “if it doesn’t move, monogram it”.
